From Story to Table

AroyStoryKitchen is a storytelling-and-baking experience for children and families, created by Kru Fhay in the kitchen with her daughter many years ago.

Each session brings together an original story, a place somewhere in the world, and a dessert inspired by it.

Together, we read, talk about what we have discovered, make something with our hands, and gather around the table to enjoy it.

Every story becomes an invitation—not simply to reach “The End,” but to make something, taste something, and discover a little more of the world together.

It Starts Small

Fun experience

With a bedtime story. With flour on small hands. With a little girl asking, “Can we make that?”

AroyStoryKitchen began in moments like these.

After school, Kru Fhay and her own daughter would read together, then make a small cake.

It was never meant to be a lesson. There was no perfect outcome to reach, just a story, a mixing bowl, a little curiosity, and time spent together.

But those small moments held something bigger.

When Curiosity Comes to Life

Fun experience

Kru Fhay believes that reading opens a child’s curiosity and empathy; baking lets them explore those same things with their hands.

That simple connection became the heart of AroyStoryKitchen:

stories that spark questions about the world, and hands-on baking that turns wonder into something children can make, taste, and share.

That is how AroyStoryKitchen was born.

A Hope That Grows

Fun experience

With more than 20 years of experience in children’s education and baking, Kru Fhay has developed this idea through 44 in-person sessions with families in Chiang Mai.

Her hope is simple ——

Bring the warmth of those after-school moments to more children and more tables than could ever fit in one kitchen.

A story is worth tasting and remembering

Not just reaching "The End."

Curiosity starts small

With wondering what a place, a feeling, a story might taste like.

Trying matters more than getting it right

A lopsided dumpling teaches the same lesson as a perfect one.

The kitchen is where families actually talk

Across a table covered in flour, not set for a lesson.
